Palace spokesman Harry Roque has been hospitalized after acquiring Covid-19 anew, he announced on Saturday.

Roque, who has a heart condition and diabetes, had tested positive for Covid-19 last March 15. He however refused to publicly show his test results, saying it was not important to show them.

“I am now admitted in a hospital for Covid treatment. This is to say that Covid-19 is more transmissible now so we have to do extra precaution,” he said in a statement.

“I am asking for your sincerest prayers to all afflicted with Covid 19 in the country and around the world.”

Despite his hospitalization, Roque said he will announce later today whether the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) imposed over the Greater Manila Area would be extended.

In a separate statement, Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte was still reviewing statistics such as the utilization of healthcare facilities in the metro.

If not extended, the ECQ will lapse tomorrow, April 11. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
