Palace spokesman Harry Roque, who had tested positive for Covid-19, denied rumors that he was undergoing quarantine at a luxury hotel in Pasay City.

“That’s fake news,” Roque said after being asked about the rumors.

“I’m in San Juan, along Annapolis Street.”

Roque said the government had no means to convert luxury hotels to isolation facilities for Covid-19 positives.

“There are some hotels that were hired by the government to house mild and asymptomatic patients. Hiwalay pa po ito doon sa mga hotel na ginagamit na isolation for (overseas Filipino workers),” he said.

“Ang alam ko po, two to three-star hotels lang po ang kinukuha natin including motels. Hindi naman po ako nasa motel, two-star hotel lang po.”

Roque announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19 on March 15.

He however refused to publicly show his test results, saying it was not important to show them.

Roque was not among Cabinet and pandemic-response officials who had been jabbed with Covid-19 vaccines. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
