Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo went to Hadji Panglima Tahil, Sulu to visit island communities and help construct a footbridge for residents.

Robredo explained in a Facebook video that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in collaboration with Hadji Panglima Tahil officials successfully built a 200-meter timber footbridge to help the communities in Barangay Pag-asinan.

The footbridge connects the isolated areas in the community to aid local residents in traveling to schools and health clinics, Robredo said.

“Yung teacher in-charge po ng Pag-asinan Elementary School nagkwekwento siya na sobrang tulong nito, lalo na ngayong pandemic kasi yung mga magulang sa sitio na kukuha ng mga modules, hindi na nahihirapan,” she said.

The vice president also expressed her gratitude to the local government unit for installing solar lights around the bridge to help residents see at night.

Moreover, she personally gave 1,000 antigen test kits for the Zamboanga del Norte and Dipolog local governments to help in their Covid-19 response efforts.

She also provided livelihood assistance for fisherfolk in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay. Ronald Espartinez
