Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo urged her supporters for sobriety, to not be taken over by emotions and focus on fighting for the country, amid a call for her to withdraw from the presidential race.

On Easter Sunday, presidential candidates Isko Moreno Domagoso, Norberto Gonzales and Panfilo “Ping” Lacson held a press conference in Manila Peninsula Hotel to announce that they are not backing down from the run.

Senator and presidential aspirant Manny Pacquiao did not make it to the press conference, but his name was included in a printed statement about the event.

Meanwhile, Robredo posted on Facebook that she and her daughters were at an Easter Mass and ate lunch with Sumilao farmers, while the press conference was being held in the posh hotel.

Robredo expressed her gratitude to her Saligan family as well as the Sumilao farmers for their sacrifice and for fighting for what is right.

By Sunday night, Robredo again took to Facebook to acknowledge that “many words have been said,” that incensed and angered some, while others remain unbothered.

She encouraged her supporters to focus on the remaining 20 campaign days left.

“We need to not be overwhelmed by emotion. Let us not utter hurtful words. Let us focus on our campaign: People to people, heart to heart,” she said in Filipino.
