Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo vows to mandate the full disclosure of all government transactions even without an enabling law from Congress if she wins the presidency.
“Puwede akong gumawa ng executive order para meron nang ganoon na demand for all government [offices],” Robredo said during the the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) presidential forum on Friday.
Earlier, Robredo said she would push for the freedom of information bill, including a measure mandating the disclosure of government deals without the need for public request. Robredo noted she would certify these bills as urgent.
“Mas maganda kung may batas dahil kahit hindi na ako Pangulo, tuloy-tuloy, institutionalized iyong requirement na ‘yon. Pero habang wala pang batas, gagawa na tayo ng executive order,” she continued.
In her first 100 days in office, Robredo said she would give her efforts to clean the government or “Paglinis ng gobyerno.”
Under her governance, regular lifestyle checks would be matched with the full disclosure of officials’ Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN). Ronald Espartinez
