Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo announced on Wednesday that she has undergone quarantine as she had close contact with someone with Covid-19.

In a Facebook post, Robredo said she was “a very close contact.”

“I have been exposed to somebody from our office who tested positive for Covid today…I started my quarantine yesterday after she developed symptoms. Because of this, I need to continue with my quarantine,” she said.

Robredo said she would take an RT-PCR test on Aug. 30.

“Unfortunately, I need to have myself excused in the activities I have committed myself to. Apologies to everyone who may be affected by this. I will continue to work from home during the entire period,” she said.

Robredo became fully vaccinated against Covid-19 earlier this month.

This marks the third time Robredo has entered quarantine due to Covid-19 exposure. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
