Vice president and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo received the biggest increase in voter preference in the latest pre-election presidential preference survey of Pulse Asia survey.

The survey was conducted on March 17-21, where Robredo’s numbers climbed by nine percent while Marcos lost four percentage points. The rest of the presidential candidates’ ratings remained almost the same.

From the previous 15%, Robredo is now at 24%, while Marcos’ slid from 60% to 56%.

However, Marcos still ranked the highest in all major island groups. He posted the highest in the National Capital Region (NCR) with 64%. He also scored 56% in Classes C and D, and 52% in Class E.

Robredo’s camp welcomed the latest development, noting that the huge support the vice president is receiving in various campaign rallies around the country is already being seen in surveys.

“The survey numbers are starting to reflect what we have been seeing on the ground all along: the massive crowds, the fierce passion, the untiring commitment of Filipinos from all walks of life, coming together to rally behind Leni Robredo’s bid for the presidency,” said lawyer Barry Gutierrez, Robredo’s spokesperson.

“This 13-point swing going into the last two months of the campaign clearly establishes what we have long known: VP Leni has the momentum, which we expect will only further intensify and accelerate all the way to May 9,” he added.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno stayed at the third spot with an 8% score. Senator Manny Pacquiao followed with 6% and Senator Panfilo Lacson with 2%. — Ronald Espartinez
