Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla apologized after he mistakenly identified Lapu-Lapu as Ferdinand Magellan on social media.

“I apologize for the earlier confusing post on our celebration of Lapu-lapu’s victory in Mactan 500 yrs ago,” Revilla’s post on social media said.  He said an intern posted it without securing any clearance.

“Again, my sincerest apologies to our Cebuano kababayans and to all Filipinos,” Jolo added.

Revilla’s Facebook post celebrating the 500th anniversary of the victory of Mactan where he called Lapulapu, Magellan received a backlash from the netizens.
