Region 11 (Davao Region) is on total lockdown to protect it from the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
This was decided upon by the Regional Peace and Order Council and Regional Development Council. The councils also created the Davao Region Covid-19 Task Force “to implement a regionwide unified effort across LGUs to contain the Covid-19 infection.”
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, was appointed chairperson of the task force.
All land, sea and domestic air travel to the region is suspended for 14 days, and may be reduced to 7 days. The total lockdown of the region will begin on 12:01AM Thursday, 19 March 2020
The task force said everyone can leave the region anytime but they are not allowed to come back for the next 14 days.
Region 11 comprises the Davao provinces (Davao del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental and Davao Occidental), 1 highly urbanized city (Davao City), 5 component cities, 43 municipalities and 1,162 barangays. (Rommel F. Lopez)
