Quezon City has distributed cash aid under the national government’s social amelioration program (SAP) to all 377,584 qualified families as of May 20, and promised a P4,000 supplemental aid to those who did not qualify.

The city government announced that it would also redistribute P23.5 million in cash aid returned by Social Security System, Department of Labor and Employment and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries.

In a press release posted by the Quezon City Facebook page, city administrator Michael Alimurung said that qualified families that did not qualify for the national government’s SAP will receive P4,000 through the Quezon City SAP, and those belonging to vulnerable sectors will get P2,000 under the Kalingang QC program.

“Aside from QC SAP for qualified families, the Kalingang QC program gives P2,000 for ambulant and unregistered vendors, solo parents, persons with disability (PWDs), lactating mothers, Scholarship and Youth Development Program (SYDP) scholars, senior citizens, drivers of public utility jeeps, tricycles, pedicabs, taxis, Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), and UV Express, market vendors affected by the enhanced community quarantine,” it said.
