President Rodrigo Duterte offered to resign anew on Monday, but this time only if anyone could prove that he received bribes as chief executive.

In a televised address, Duterte said his Cabinet members would also do the same if linked to corruption.

“Maraming haka-haka diyan na kaming mga Cabinet members, ako tumatanggap ng pera saan. Look, I give you this guarantee. Magdala ka lang ng tao at sabihin mo nagbigay siya ng piso sa amin, mag-resign ako bukas,” he declared.

“Just one person, one affidavit. Walang imbento, iyong totoo na sinabi na may tinanggap kami na pera. You just bring him to him or bring him before the public an announcement, and if true, I will tender my resignation,” he added.

Duterte, however, threatened to kill those who would invent and concoct stories.

He said fabricated stories drained away the public’s trust from himself and his Cabinet, which he said was “honest.”

The president also expressed confidence in the country’s procurement of Covid-19 vaccines, saying under vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., it would be clean.

“Iyang vaccine na ‘yan it’s worth billions. They say that we would need about P73 billion to vaccinize the population. Iyan, teritoryo ‘yan ni General Galvez. I have full faith and confidence that walang kickback-kickback ‘yan, wala lahat,” he said. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
