Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor submitted his certificate of candidacy as mayor of Quezon City.
Defensor, a former councilor in QC, will face incumbent Mayor Joy Belmonte who’s also eyeing for a new chance as the city’s leader.
Councilor Winnie Castelo will run as Defensor’s vice.
Rep. Mike Defensor was one of the 70 lawmakers who voted for the closure of broadcasting network ABS-CBN.
Defensor is also facing a public backlash after distributing ivermectin, even with lack of evidence as Covid-19 cure, to some Quezon City residents early this year.
Rose Lin, an executive from Pharmally Biological, will also run under Defensor’s team as 5th district representative.
Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. where Lin is working is being criticized for alleged anomalous purchases of face masks, face shields, and personal protective equipment. Lin attended a Senate hearing to defend the company. Ronald Espartinez
