The Baguio City mayor suspended Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) training after trainees violated Covid-19 protocols.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong said the trainees were not observing physical distancing and not wearing masks during training.

“So it is about time that we have to make a strong stand and strong message na, if you cannot comply with the minimum law standard in the city of Baguio, we will not accept any PNP training dito sa syudad,” Magalong said in the Laging Handa government briefing on July 13 (Tuesday).

Magalong said the BFP and PNP training would remain suspended until the trainees complied with the minimum health standard.

He said PNP Chief Guillermo Eleazar and BFP Chief Jose Embang Jr. vowed to investigate and charge violators. Hazel N. Camba
