P-pop group, SB19, continues to dominate the charts globally after their song “Bazinga” dethroned BTS’s “Butter” in the top spot of Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs chart.

The group’s song rose to number one in the December 11 chart after posting 8th place last week.

“The song reigns with 1.5 million Twitter mentions (up 67%) in the tracking week, which ran from Friday, November 26, through Thursday, December 2, and earns SB19 its first No. 1 on any chart,” Billboard said.

SB19 also marks the first time for any musical act to dethrone the global superstar K-pop group BTS, which had been owning the chart for six weeks with their songs “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”

“Bazinga” ranked first followed by BTS’ “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” then Stray Kids’ “Christmas EveL,” and completing the top five is Dimash Kudaibergen’s “Fly Away.”

SB19 launched the music video for “Bazinga” in October 2021. On top of that, the P-pop group also made history as the first Filipino act to be nominated for the Top Social Artist category at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Ronald Espartinez
