The Philippines reported 17,891 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from September 19 to 25, 2022, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
The total number is 22% higher than those logged the previous week at 14,707 cases.
The DOH’s weekly case bulletin showed the daily case average increased to 2,556 from 2,101 the previous week.
Meanwhile, 242 additional verified Covid-19-related deaths were reported in the past week.
Among the said fatalities, 34 occurred in September 2022; one in January 2022; 59 in October 2021; 147 in September 2021; and one in April 2021.
