The Philippines’ coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) tally increased to 535,521 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,941 new infections on Saturday.

As per DOH’s latest data, four Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Currently, there are 35,946 active Covid-19 cases undergoing medical treatment or quarantine: 88.4 percent are mild, 6.8 percent are asymptomatic, 2.1 percent are severe, and 2.2 percent are in critical condition.

The country’s recovery rate spiked to 488,465 with 234 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 11,110 with 52 new fatalities. 

Moreover, six duplicate cases were also removed from the nationwide count, while 42 cases previously declared as recovered were reclassified as fatalities after final validation. Ronald dela Cruz
