The Philippines’ coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) cases jumped to an alarming rate, with 77 new patients added Saturday, bringing the total to 307.
Department of Health (DOH) Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire made the announcement Saturday adding that fatalities due to the virus are now at 19.
Patient 205, a 73-year-old Filipina from San Juan City with no travel or exposure history, is the recent death due to COVID-19.
The patient expired on March 12 due to cardiac arrest. She was tested positive on March 18, a few days after her death.
On a bit of good news, five additional persons have recovered from the deadly virus, producing 13 total recoveries for the country.
(RJ Espartinez)
