The country’s vaccine stock increased by over 3.8 million doses, courtesy of separate shipments of Sinovac and Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine shots.

Three million doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Thursday.

According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19, the shipment brought the country’s Sinovac total to over 50.5 million doses.

Government-procured Pfizer doses also arrived in the country on Thursday. The shipment consisted of 866,970 doses.

A total of 19,094,400 Pfizer doses procured by the Philippine government have so far been delivered as part of the 40 million doses the country has secured from the pharmaceutical firm.

The Philippines has also received 14.7 million Pfizer doses from the Covax facility.
