Malacañang on Saturday said the government was looking into ways to improve the accommodation of walk-in vaccinees in the country.

Acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said local government units should be able to accommodate walk-in vaccinations during the second round of its special vaccination holidays.

“Isa sa mga nakikita natin na puwede pa nating ma-improve is doon sa mga walk-ins dahil siyempre sa kaniya-kaniyang mga LGUs ay mayroon din po ng mga walk-ins na kailangang ma-accommodate natin,” Nograles said.

The Philippines inoculated 7,628,432 individuals from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3, the initial dates of the national vaccination drive.

Following requests from LGUs, the government extended its “Bayanihan Bakunahan” vaccination drive until Dec. 3.

Nearly two million individuals were vaccinated during the two-day extension, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said.

The government is considering holding another three-day national vaccination drive, from Dec. 15 to 17.

The special vaccination days are conducted with the intention of increasing the country’s vaccination throughput before Christmas. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
