The Philippines surpassed the 57,000 mark on coronavirus cases after the Department of Health (DOH) logged on Tuesday 634 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, bringing the country’s total to 57,545.

The DOH said recoveries is now at 20,459 after 88 patients successfully recovered from the dreaded respiratory disease.

However, the Health Department reported six additional deaths, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,603.

Indonesia still leads Southeast Asia in total number of COVID-19 cases with 78,572 followed by the Philippines.  Singapore is third with 46,630.  (Rommel F. Lopez)
