The Philippines crossed the 65,000 mark on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Saturday 2,357 new infections, increasing the nationwide tally to 65,304.
The top 5 Covid-19 hotspots in the country are the National Capital Region with 1,824, Laguna with 105, Cavite with 62, Cebu with 49, and Rizal with 39.
Currently, there are 41,464 active cases: 90% are mild, 9.1% are asymptomatic, 0.4% are severe, and 0.4% are in critical condition.
The country’s recovery rate continued to spike with an impressive 321 new patients winning the fight against Covid-19, raising the country’s total to 22,067.
On the other hand, fatalities rose to 1,773 after the DOH reported 113 new deaths from the respiratory illness. (RJ Espartinez)
