The Philippines is set to receive 1.17 million Covid-19 vaccine doses this week, the Palace said on Monday.
One million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will comprise the total. The remaining will be Sputnik V doses.
The AstraZeneca doses, expected to arrive on July 8, were the donations earlier pledged by Japan.
Japan’s vaccine donations will be the Philippines’ first AstraZeneca doses not from the Covax facility.
Meanwhile, the 170,000 Sputnik V doses will be components 1 and 2 of the Russian vaccine.
The Sputnik V vaccine consists of two components administered 21 days apart.
As of July 4, the Philippines has fully vaccinated 2,868,905 Filipinos, with 8,839,124 initial-dose recipients.
More than 11.7 million doses have been administered nationwide. John Ezekiel J. Hirro
