The Philippine government on Wednesday expressed its gratitude to several countries for offering assistance after typhoon “Odette” ravaged areas in Visayas and Mindanao.
“We are…grateful to our friends in the international community, partners and allies for their offers of assistance…Maraming, maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyo,” acting Palace spokesman Karlo Nograles said in a virtual presser.
Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, France, Japan, the UK, the US, the United Nations and Qatar were among those that pledged to send aid to the Philippines.
The assistance came in forms of monetary donations and supplies.
“[W]e expect a lot more countries and development partners and allies to come to our aid and help our kababayans na lubos na naapektuhan ng typhoon ‘Odette,'” Nograles said.
The Duterte administration, for its part, has pledged to raise P10 billion for areas ravaged by “Odette.”
