The Philippines hit the 7000-mark after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Friday 211 new positive cases for the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections to 7,192.
In a bit of good news, 40 patients have successfully recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recoveries to 762.
The death toll, on the other hand, slowly inched a bit after 15 new deaths have been recorded by DOH. The total number of fatalities stands at 477.
Currently, there 5,953 COVID-19 active cases across 18 areas in the country.
Singapore is still on top in Southeast Asia for the most number of COVID-19 cases at 12,075. Indonesia landed on 2nd with 8,211 trailed by the Philippines. (RJ Espartinez)
