The Philippines logged a new all-time high of 26,303 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections Saturday, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,206,021.
Currently, the country has 185,706 active Covid-19 cases either undergoing medical treatment and/or quarantine: 85.3% are mild, 10.2% are asymptomatic, 1.3% are severe, and 0.6% are in critical condition.
Amid the surge, the Department of Health (DOH) revealed that two Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Meanwhile, the health department explained that 1,608 cases from the 26,303 should have been tallied in the September 10 count.
“While some technical issues have been resolved by DICT, there are CDRS data not yet included in CK and remain unavailable for extraction. This has led to some delays in the inclusion of new data for cases, deaths, and recoveries,” the department said.
“While we await full resolution of this issue, we may observe some delays in inclusion of some data in our topline numbers in the coming days but we are managing this by generating data from CDRS and submitted line lists by our disease reporting units.”
The country’s recovery rate increased to 1,985,337 with 16,013 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 34,978 with 79 new fatalities.
A total of 52 duplicate cases were also removed from the total case count.
