The Department of Health (DOH) reports 7,757 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the Philippines tally to 663,794.

Even with the huge spike in cases, the DOH said two Covid-19 laboratories still failed to submit their daily reports on time.

This marks the third consecutive day where new Covid-19 infections exceeded the 7,000 mark.

Yesterday saw the country register its highest single day total caseload at 7,999.

Currently, there are 73,072 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment or quarantine: 95.0 have mild symptoms, while 2.3 percent were asymptomatic.

Another 1.1 percent have severe symptoms while 1.0 percent are in critical condition.

The country’s recovery rate spiked to 577,754 with 15,288 more patients winning the fight against respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, stands at 12,968 with 39 new fatalities. Ronald dela Cruz
