The Philippines logged a record-high 18,332 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, Monday, raising the nationwide tally to 1,857,646.

Amid the surge of infections, the Department of Health (DOH) announced that three Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Today’s infections bring the country’s active cases to 130,350. 

Among the said number, 94.8% are mild, 2.5% are asymptomatic, 1.2% are severe, and 0.6% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,695,335 with 13,794 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, rose to 31,961 with 151 new fatalities.

The health department also confirmed that it removed 321 duplicate cases, including 316 recoveries. 

The DOH also reclassified 68 recoveries as deaths after final validation. Ronald Espartinez
