The Philippines logged 89 new Covid-19 infections, the lowest daily tally since April 4, 2020, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

The said number is the lowest in 1,032 days or two years, nine months, and 27 days. On April 4, 2020, 76 new Covid-19 infections were recorded. 

It is also the first time since that day when the total cases were less than 100. 

Meanwhile, active infections increased to 9,632 with the total national caseload at 4,073,203.

Recoveries also posted an uptick to 3,997,792 with 303 new records. 

Total fatalities rose to 65,779 with 4 new deaths reported

The National Capital Region (NCR) is the top region with the highest number of active cases at 701; followed by Calabarzon with 381; Western Visayas with 242; Davao Region with 204; and Central Luzon with 176.
