The Department of Health (DOH) reported 8,767 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in the country, pushing the Philippines’ Covid-19 tally to 971,049.

The DOH said only one Covid-19 laboratory failed to submit its daily report on time.

With that, the country’s active Covid-19 cases stand at 107,988: 96.6% are mild, 1.3% are asymptomatic, 0.9% are severe, and 0.7% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 846,691 with 17,138 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, spiked to 16,370 with 105 new fatalities.

The Health Department also confirmed that it successfully removed 25 duplicate cases from the nationwide case count.
