The Philippines reported 8,292 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, which is the lowest reported case since April 29, 2021, pushing the nationwide tally to 2,674,814.

Today’s count brings the nationwide active cases to 98,894. Among the said number, 74.4% are mild, 15% are asymptomatic, 3.2% are severe, and 1.3% are in critical condition.

The Department of Health (DOH) also confirmed that two Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,536,260 with 302 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 39,660 with 36 new fatalities. 

The country’s positivity rate stands at 16.5%, higher than the international standard of less than 5%.

The DOH also announced that 40 duplicates as well as 32 recoveries were removed from the nationwide count after validation. Moreover, 21 recoveries were reclassified as deaths. Ronald Espartinez
