The Philippines reported 8,292 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from December 5 to December 11, 2022, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH’s latest bulletin said the daily case average for the recent week was 1,185, which was seven percent higher than the 8,032 infections logged from November 28 to December 4.

This is the sixth straight week where the country’s reported cases did not exceed the 10,000 mark.

The health department reported 156 additional verified Covid-19-related deaths from June 2020 until December this year.

Among the said deaths, 30 occurred in December 2022, 36 in November 2022, 1 in October 2022, 6 in February 2022, 9 in January 2022, 1 in December 2021, 4 in November 2021, 17 in October 2021, 19 in September 2021, 6 in August 2021, 3 in July 2021, 4 in June 2021, 7 in May 2021, 7 in April 2021, 1 in February 2021, 1 in December 2020, 1 in September 2020, 2 in August 2020, and 1 in June 2020.

Currently, the country has a total of 4,050,045 Covid-19 infections.
