The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Sunday 8,162 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, bringing the Philippines’ total count to 997,523.

Meanwhile, eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time while two labs were not operational. 

Total active cases now stand at 77,075: 95.5% of which were mild, 1.5% were asymptomatic, 1.2% were severe, and 1% were critical cases. 

Total number of survivors reached 903,665 with 20,509 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness. 

On the other hand, death toll rose to 16,783, with 109 new fatalities. 

The DOH also announced that it successfully changed the country’s total caseload after deleting 19 duplicated cases, of which, 13 were recoveries. Ronald dela Cruz
