The Philippines reported 7,450 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections Friday, pushing the nationwide tally to 1,255,337.
The Department of Health (DOH) said five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Currently, there are 60,794 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment and quarantine: 93.9% are mild, 2.0% are asymptomatic, 1.6% are severe, and 1.3% are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 1,173,006 with 2,382 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 21,537 with 181 new fatalities.
The DOH also announced that it successfully removed 12 duplicate cases from the nationwide count.
“Moreover, 119 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald Espartinez
