The Philippines reported 7,379 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 953,106.

Today’s tally was the lowest number in 13 days since the 6,414 infections reported on April 7.

According to the DOH, eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.

The country’s active Covid-19 cases increased to 127,006: 96.9% are mild, 1.3% are asymptomatic, 0.6% are critical, and 0.7% are in severe condition.

The total number of recoveries spiked to 809,959 with 21,664 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 16,141 with 93 new fatalities.

Moreover, the DOH removed 18 duplicate cases from the nationwide count. Also, the 20 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation. Ronald dela Cruz
