The Philippines reported 7,204 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections on Tuesday by the Department of Health (DOH).

This brings the nationwide Covid-19 count to 1,013,618.

According to the DOH, 22 laboratories failed to submit their daily report on time.

The country’s active Covid-19 infections stand 71,675; 95.2% are mild, 1.5% are asymptomatic, 1.3% are severe, and 1.1% are in critical cases.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 925,027 with 10,109 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 16,916 with 63 new fatalities.

The DOH also confirmed that it successfully removed 14 duplicate cases from the nationwide tally, while 26 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after verification. Ronald dela Cruz
