The Philippines reported 7,174 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 1,101,990.

The Department of Health (DOH) announced that all Covid-19 laboratories were able to submit their daily reports on time. 

Currently, there are 61,294 active Covid-19 cases: 93.8% were mild, 2.1% were asymptomatic, 1.7% were severe, and 1.3% were in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 1,022,224 with 9,197 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 18,472 with 204 new fatalities.

The DOH also announced that it successfully removed 33 duplicate cases from the total case count. Moreover, 149 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation. Ronald dela Cruz
