The Philippines logged 6,913 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, the lowest recorded since August 3. 

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed that three Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their reports on time. 

Today’s caseload brings the nationwide tally to 2,720,368 with 81,641 active Covid-19 cases undergoing medical treatment and/or quarantine.

Among the said active cases, 82% are mild, 5.5% are asymptomatic, 3.8% are severe, and 1.6% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,598,052 with 10,237 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 40,675 with 95 new fatalities.

The DOH also reported that it removed 54 duplicates from the nationwide count as well as 31 infections previously declared as recoveries have been reclassified as deaths after verification. Ronald Espartinez
