The Philippines reported 6,833 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, pushing the nationwide tally to 1,346,276.

Currently, there are 61,776 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment and quarantine: 92.2% are mild, 3.7% are asymptomatic, 1.7% are severe, and 1.2% are in critical condition.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), five Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

The DOH reported 3,441 recoveries raising the nationwide total to 1,261,115.

Death toll now stands at 23,385 with 110 new fatalities.

The Health Department said 14 duplicate cases were removed from the nationwide count.

“Moreover, 30 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases, and 60 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald Espartinez
