The Philippines reported 6,684 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the nationwide count to 1,230,301.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), three Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
This marks the fifth consecutive day where new cases reported exceeded the 6,000 mark.
Currently, there are 54,290 active Covid-19 infections: 93.3% are mild, 2.2% are asymptomatic, 1.8% are severe, and 1.4% are in critical condition.
The country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,155,045 with 6,098 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, is now at 20,966 with 107 new fatalities reported
The DOH also announced that it successfully removed 10 duplicate cases from the total case count. Moreover, 57 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation. Ronald Espartinez
