The Department of Health (DOH) reported 6,666 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, raising the Philippines’ tally to 684,311.

The DOH said seven Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Currently, there are 91,754 active Covid-19 infections, another all-time high this year.

Among the numbers, 95.3 percent are mild, 2.5 percent are asymptomatic, 0.9 percent are severe, and 0.8 percent are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 579,518 with 1,072 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness. 

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 13,039 with 47 new fatalities.

The Health Department also removed eight duplicate infections from the nationwide case count.

“Moreover, 11 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald dela Cruz
