The Philippines reported 6,426 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections on Monday pushing the nationwide total caseload to 1,322,053.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), 10 Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.
Today’s tally marks the fourth consecutive day where new cases reported exceeded the 6,000 mark.
Currently, there are 59,096 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment and quarantine: 91.8% are mild, 3.9% are asymptomatic, 1.8% are severe, and 1.3% are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 1,240,112 with 7,145 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.
Death toll, on the other hand, stands at 22,845 with 57 new fatalities.
The DOH reported that 12 duplicate cases were successfully removed from the nationwide count. Also, 10 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after validation. Ronald Espartinez
