The Philippines tallied 6,192 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases, Friday the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

This brings the nationwide caseload to 1,424,518.

According to the DOH, four Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily report on time.

The country’s active Covid-19 infections further increased to 55,482; 91.5% are mild, 3.8% are asymptomatic, 2.0% are severe, and 1.4% are in critical cases.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,344,063 with 2,212 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness, the lowest recorded since April 17. 

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 24,973 with 177 new fatalities.

The DOH also confirmed that it successfully removed 11 duplicate cases from the nationwide tally, while 102 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after verification. Ronald Espartinez
