The Philippines has 5,249 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases,  the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed Monday. 

This brings the nationwide caseload to 1,364,239.

According to the DOH, eight laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.

The country’s active Covid-19 infections slightly rose to 55,847; 91.4% are mild, 1.9% are asymptomatic, 1.32% are severe, and 1.3% are in critical cases.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,284,643 with 7,053 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 23,749 with 128 new fatalities. Ronald Espartinez
