The Philippines reported 5,221 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), pushing the nationwide tally to 1,490,665.

This brings the country’s active cases to 45,495 where 91.4% of them are mild, 2.1% are asymptomatic, 2.8% are severe, and 1.7% are in critical condition.

The Department of Health (DOH) also announced that four Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Meanwhile, the country logged 4,147 more patients surviving the deadly respiratory illness, increasing the country’s recovery rate to 1,418,856.

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 26,314 with 82 new fatalities.

The DOH also confirmed that 13 duplicate cases were decreased from the nationwide county. Among the said number, 10 of them were recoveries 

“Moreover, 52 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases, and 46 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH said. Ronald Espartinez
