The Philippines tallied 4,793 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, Monday. 

This brings the nationwide count to 1,184,706.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), six laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time.

The country’s active Covid-19 infections slightly rose to 48,917; 92.2% are mild, 2% are asymptomatic, 2.1% are severe, and 1.6% are in critical cases.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 1,115,806 with 6,666 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, inches to 19,983 with 39 new fatalities.

The DOH also confirmed that it successfully removed 21 duplicate cases from the nationwide tally, while 58 cases previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after verification. Ronald Espartinez
