The Philippines logged 4,496 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, the lowest reported since July 28.

The country’s total number of infections is now up to 2,731,735. The Department of Health (DOH) said seven Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their daily reports on time. 

Today’s number brings the active Covid-19 infections in the country to 63,637, also the lowest since August 1. Among the said tally, 79.0% are mild, 5.2% asymptomatic, 2.0% critical, 4.8% severe and 8.97% moderate.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate increased to 2,627,126 with 9,609 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 40,972 with 211 new fatalities. 

The DOH also confirmed that 47 duplicate cases were deleted as well as 31 recoveries. Ronald Espartinez
