The Philippines reported 4,131 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections from March 7 to March 13, the Department of Health (DOH) reported.

The cases recorded were 35% lower than the cases posted last week. 

The health department added that the daily average for the week was 590. 

According to the DOH Covid-19 tracker, there are 3,671,293 total Covid-19 infections in the country with 46,256 active cases. 

The tracker also posted the country’s total recovery rate, which is now at 3,567,412.

There were also 590 verified deaths last week, the health department reported. 

Of the 591 deaths, 115 occurred in March 2022 (19.5%), 164 in February 2022 (27.7%), 95 in January 2022 (16.1%), 8 in December 2021 (1.4%), 6 in November 2021 (1.0%), 15 in October 2021 (2.5%), 40 in September 2021 (6.8%), 23 in August 2021 (3.9%), 19 in July 2021 (3.2%), 16 in June 2021 (2.7%), 3 in May 2021 (0.5%), 10 in April 2021 (1.7%), 6 in March 2021 (1.0%), 1 in February 2021 (0.2%), 2 in January 2021 (0.3%), 15 in December 2020 (2.5%), 7 in November 2020 (1.2%), 9 in October 2020 (1.5%), 11 in September 2020 (1.9%), 16 in August 2020 (2.7%), 6 in July 2020 (1.0%), 1 in June 2020 (0.2%), 2 in May 2020 (0.3%), and 1 in March 2020 (0.2%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya.
