The Philippines reported 3,651 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 3,623,176.

The Department of Health (DOH) said that all Covid-19 laboratories were functional since February 7, but three laboratories failed to submit their reports on time. 

Among the new cases reported today, 3,474 or 95% happened within Jan. 27 to Feb. 9, 2022.

Western Visayas (Region 6) topped the regions with the most number of new cases in the recent two weeks at 523 or 15%; followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 484 or 14%; and Region 4-A with 414 or 12%.

Currently, there are 96,326 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment and/or quarantine: 4,150 are asymptomatic, 87,385 are mild, 3,029 are moderate, 1,447 are severe, and 315 are critical.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 3,472,160 with 12,834 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, increased to 54,690 with 69 new fatalities. 

The DOH confirmed that it removed 105 duplicates from the nationwide count. Ronald Espartinez
