The Philippines logged 3,117 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, the lowest daily count reported since May 23, further pushing the nationwide tally to 2,790,375.

The Department of Health (DOH) also announced that eight Covid-19 laboratories failed to submit their reports on time. 

Today’s count brings the active cases to 43,185. Among the said number, 72.6% are mild, 4.9% are asymptomatic, 7.2% are severe, and 3% are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 2,703,914 with 5,124 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, increased to 43,276 with 104 new fatalities. 

The health department reported that 18 duplicate cases were removed from the nationwide tally while 68 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities. Ronald Espartinez
