The Philippines on Monday reported 2,730 new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections, pushing the nationwide tally to 3,639,942. 

Among the new cases reported, 2,627 cases happened within the last 14 days, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

The National Capital Region (NCR) topped the regions with the most number of new cases at 467.

Currently, there are 76,609 active Covid-19 infections undergoing medical treatment: 69,574 are mild, 2,310 are asymptomatic, 1,443 are severe, and 312 are in critical condition.

Meanwhile, the country’s recovery rate climbed to 3,508,239 with 7,456 more patients winning the fight against the deadly respiratory illness.

Death toll, on the other hand, increased to 55,094 with 164 new fatalities.

The DOH confirmed that 68 duplicates were removed from the nationwide count, while 121 infections previously declared as recoveries were reclassified as fatalities. Ronald Espartinez
